So many things to think about when the time is right to purchase a home. Do you know what you want in a home? Do you know how to negotiate the terms and to get the deal that works for you? A good agent can help you with that.
It is time for you to buy a NEW home? How exciting! It’s important to find an experienced agent. There are thousands of agents in the NE Florida area and they ALL want your business. WOW. IT’s a big deal. This is one of the biggest investments you will make in….YOUR….LIFE.
There are lots of pieces of the home buying puzzle. Some buyers, out of convenience, will just call the agent listing the home. Don’t do that! Let me share with you some of the decisions you will be making in the home buying process. After you see the negotiation needed to make sure you are well cared for, you will see why it is important to have your own agent, rather than having the agent hired by the seller, to also look after you.
For example – one of the first opportunities for negotiating is the offer price. There are many things that can be included in the offer price. Keep in mind it will be a give and take, and your best chance is to know what is important to you. Are you aware that you can negotiate price? You can negotiate the closing date, You can make an offer with the idea of renting the home back to the seller. You can make an offer asking for a mortgage buy-down, you can make an offer asking for closing costs. You can make an offer asking for certain items in the home. Don’t get too excited – you can’t have all of these things.
Sellers are in a good position at the moment because there are not quite enough homes available for the people who want them, but sometimes being creative can get you some of what you want while not alienating the seller and work out a win-win for both of you. See why you want to have someone working with YOU and not both of you.
